Re: Is calibration necessary for me?

I use Video Essentials and it works great at calibrating the sound levels in a MULTI channel setup because the levels are coming from the DVD and not the receiver (i.e. not using the built in tones).

For video calibration it also worked very well, since it takes the guess out of the 'correct' settings. However, it does NOT take the place of having your set being professionally calibrated by a certified calibrationist with the proper equipment. Once you have that done, then using one of those DVDs to fine tune to your OWN liking is good.
