Progressive scan on Gamecube... is it worth buying HDTV for it?

I'm debating on a Sony 27" WEGA for the S-video or the Samsung Tantus 27" for the component video that enables progressive scan... Is it worth the $300 extra bucks for the progressive scan? Or is the S-video close enough? Thanks.
