Re: Video Up-conversion

As you know, the Denon 3803 (and some other models) have a feature that takes various video input sources from composite video VCR's or S-video, etc. and "upconverts" the signal out to it's component video output. This allows for running just one set of component video cables from the Denon to the TV as all the video signals come through that connection.

I haven't really compared the video "upconversion" picture quality vs running S-video or composite video direct to the TV. I just recently placed a VCR in the setup so I might experiment with that. Running just one set of component video cables to the TV is a real convenience but I'm not sure if this "upconversion" actually helps picture quality from the other sources (like VCR composite video or S-Video).
