I picked up a Denon 1600 for $400. It is incredible!!! It also is one of the most reliable players available. For a real understanding of Progressive Scan and a great benchmark of 100's of players go to:www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-bin/shootout.cgi
You'll see that the Denon is at the top of the list and uses the highly regarded Genesis FLI2200 chip.
