I have had it for a couple of years and have never had a problem. The image quality is excellent. I looked at replacing it with the Denon 2800 mkII model and I found the older Elite a much better DVD player. Image quality is excellent while the Farjouda equipped Denon was average in my opinion. With the Denon you do get a current model and you will get DVD-Audio with the Denon which might make it a better audio machine. For 100 bucks more than the Denon 1600 you can get a DV-47ai from J & R during their sales (649.00). This will blow away the 1600 in every way.Jeff
