You can't do it. The firewire input on the JVC is full digital and you cannot recreate this off of the component feed. I am unaware of anyone offering a firewire out on ANY satellite set top box, probably because the satellite companies will not license their name to anyone who offers it on a STB or else, they fear, their pay-per-view audience will dry up.A company called "169time" - on the net - offers a pricey conversion of several STB's to add the firewire output for recording purposes. This is the only current solution I know about. I have no idea how well - or if - it works.
