HDCP doesn't have anything to do with distance. It's purely copy protection crap... uh, I mean digital rights management (of sorts).As for the DVI question on length, the most I've seen advertised for a DIGITAL connection is 5 meters (around 16ft). To go farther, I think you have to get an adapter which connects to an optical cable which connects to another adapter at the other end (what a stretch!).
I have seen ANALOG DVI cables advertised that go beyond this, but I don't know if that's what you want. Here's a link to a seller of DVI cables (type "dvi" in search fuction). Maybe they can help you out. Also, avsforum.com is a good source for information.
