auto shut off sony kv32fs16

Recently my sony tv kv32fs16 "blinked" for a second then shut off completely but the red light in front started to flash 4 times. I would try to turn on the tv, I could hear the audio but before the video could appear the set would then automatically shut off and the led would start flashing 4 times. I have unplugged the set overnight thinking it may reset as recommended in the ownders manual but no success. The problem is listed in the owners manual but recommends taking it to the service centre. Can anyone explain the fix for this problem.
