Can't help with the Outlaw question (I am happy with my Denon equipment). However with regard to the speakers, I have heard the current Polk and Klipsch lines and you can do a lot better for the money. I have not heard the Ascend's but they have been favorably reviewed and they use Audax drivers similar to my Audax HT which is in a whole other class above the Polks and Klipsch reference series.
