For nearly 5 years I been using a pair of M-80's (front and center) and an M-60 (rears) for my home theater. 2 years ago, one M-80 smoked and I was unable to find a local repair shop who could fix it (resorted back to the integrated Yamaha rxv2090 amp). Then 2 weeks ago my M-60 smoked (bring online another rxv-2090 internal amp). I have now a single M-80. I expect it too will die soon.
I am looking at the B&K 200.7 AMP and eventually a ref 50 (so much money at one pop).. Any opinions on performance loss/gain between the two? I cannot very well A/B an M-80 and the B&K on a set of ref Klipsch down at the ole HIFI buys..I have read the specs and less power more dampening (and 5yr warranty) on B&K.. however, more power, cleaner power on the yamaha.
Thanks / Doug
