Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

Anyone compared the Toshiba SD-9200 DVD player with the newer SD-9500; mainly concerned with Video?

The former has 10 bit/54Mz video DACs whilst the latter has 14 bit/108Mz video chips.
Of course, 'newer' chipsets do not guarantee better performance - at least with audio - and I've yet to see a 100Hz TV with a better picture than my own 50Hz set.

Currently I can pick up the European equivalent to the SD-9200 for a quarter of the price of the SD-9500.

Best Regards,
Chris Redmond.
