Help - Toshiba or JVC (or something else?)

I'm in the market to buy a 65 inch HDTV with a majority of the current options (most TV's come with all the standard stuff albeit some specifics)
I am currently looking to spend $2000. Every model I talk about is new/packaged/fac. warr.
I saw a JVC 65 inch 2003 model being sold for $1788 + shipping. I also have a wholesale license and can purchase a toshiba 65 inch for $2000 + shipping. My question: is there any real difference? Picture quality? Are all HDTV's pretty much the same?
If you think there is another great model out there in my price range please tell me.
This will be placed in the living room of my frat house - so it needs to be built strong, but I do want the best quality because this TV should last at least 5 years.
