Hi guys,I have a technical question for which I can't find an answer. Please help if your can. I'm looking at buying a Philips 60" Widescreen rear projection TV (the 60PP9502 to be exact) but it only displays 480p and 1080i not 720p.
My question is how does it convert a 720p signal? Up to 1080i or down to 480p? If it's up to 1080i as I suspect wouldn't I see massive artifacting?
The TV comes with what I fear may be a Philips exclusive feature which allows you to manually switch between the interlaced signal and the progressive signal. Can anyone tell me if this feature is available from other manufacturers?
Thanks,
Lori
