I have really enjoyed my 45A since this past winter. As some might point out, it is a jack-of-all master-of-none, but for the minimal investment, I can not complain. I get full access to all formats. I think the new formats and their related technologies (BM, TM, digital links, digital amps, etc) will continue to mature and come down in price. I will sit on the sidelines before spending more money on a new player.

Having written that, several manufacturers are introducing a fresh crop of universal players this fall. Some might slightly better the 45A for similar $.
