Got a chance to watch much of Denver's shellacking of Oaktown last nite on HDTV via digital cable set-top box (if Plummer keeps playing like that your home team is going to be tough and will go deep in the playoffs. A big if, I know). Except for very few (maybe 3) instances of "smudging" -- hard to explain, not the pixelation and tiling I get with other channels, just like a smaller square box inside the picture froze for maybe half a second, appeared to start "wiping," then the picture reassembled perfectly -- it was absolutely perfect. Colors, spot on. Clarity, outstanding. Depth of field, wonderful. On a large 16x9 set, you get a MUCH better sense of just how fast the game moves and how quick the players are. AWESOME!!!Can you get Discovery channel OTA? In my opinion that's the shiznitz for HDTV as much of the programming is digital from beginning to end and the photography is stunning.
