I have a Pioneer CLD-2070, which I bought around 1993 (refurbished), and which I haven't used that often since the advent of DVD, but lately I've been playing (and buying) LDs of films not yet available in the new format. Now, the player works fine. Images clear, sound great through digital out and analog; however the drawer makes a whole lotta noise opening and closing. In fact the machine is noisy altogether during the initiation process and shutting down. This sounds like it needs some kind of lubrication somewhere but I wouldn't know where to begin with such an operation. Any suggestions?
