Hello:Within the next few months, we plan to purchase a new TV in the 50" to 60" range. The nicer sets we have seen at the local BB and CC seem to use either DLP (Samsung) or LCD (Sony) technology. According to the salespeople, informed as they are, DLP is said to be the preferred technology. However, I imagine each of these has its pros and cons. The salespeople did not do a very good job of explaining this and I am, admittedly, clueless.
Could someone please provide a brief summation of the pros and cons of both DLP and LCD in language that an uninformed novice might understand. If you need me to provide more information about our room environment, viewing preferences, etc., please let me know. Also, feel free to offer specific recommendations based on your personal experiences. As for price, we would like to stay at or below $3500. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give us.
Regards...........Peter K
