Hi all,I'm going to take the video plunge and start with a Sony 60" LCD rear projection TV. The seating position is 11 feet off the screen (yes, very close) in a small room.
The system is for DVDs only and is for a second home (beach house). I'm really into the retro thing (old amps/tables--as you may remember from Listener mag). So its Sony meets Fisher/Scott/McIntosh/dyna vintage tube stuff and of course SETs.
Need suggestions on:
1) lowest cost/best performance DVD player with DVI output.
2) strategies for surround setup using vintage tube integrated amps so I'll need a decoder only with standard outputs.
3) and or--a good surround preamp with bare bone fuctions for SET amps.
4) best low cost DVI cableI will use a powered sub and start with Bozak 302As as the main speaker system.
Thanks for any ideas.Peter
