Is component connection visible over S-video on a basic 32" TV?

I'm getting my parents their first DVD player, and they have a basic $450 current model Panasonic 32" TV with 'S-video' and 'component' inputs. Would hooking up this DVD player using 'component' input be visually noticeable over an 'S-video' connection? I would imagine not, since this is not a high-end TV. What do you think?
