HERETIC! What are you doing here, when you could be listening to vinyl ;-) Oops, I'm here (insert Monty Python reference here).To answer your question, there is the Video Essentials Disc & there are adjustments for your TV. The first thing, would be to clean ALL the connections, especially the cable connections. Do the TV & where the cable enters the house & any splitters. Contact cleaner, detoxit, etc will work. Replace crappy splitters with those from Monster Cable or Ultralink. Use high quality RG-6 where possible, less signal loss and better picture quality.
Your problem sounds like a cable company problem...
