I tried going the route of a cheaper outboard DD processor (Technics 500 from memory) but found it totally unsatisfactory. Many people are happy with DD incorporated in their DVD players.You do not tell us the use for it you have in mind. If it is for DVD, then get a player with it incorportaed. Otherwise, go for a receiver with inbuilt processing - the best option IMO.
