SONY KV27FS100

I recently purchased this TV to replace a 14-year old 20" mono TV; I have so far been very happy with its picture and sound quality. But just in the last two days I notice a slight degre of vertical distortion at the top of the screen: vertical lines on the right of the screen seem to bend slightly to the right at the top of the image, and on the left, to the left. It's most noticeable when watching DVDs with the 16:9 compression turned on, but I have observed it on digital cable channels as well. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a problem, or simply a quirk of the flat-screen format? Since I've had the TV only a couple of months I'm willing to believe it's always had this peculiarity. Is there a way I can adjust the TV to correct it?

Thanks for the help
