I'm in the market for a 42" to 50" HDTV. I'd like the set to have DVI and HDMI inputs and of course excellent picture quality (720p, 1080i, possibly 1080p) but don't want to break the bank. I don't want to have to worry about burn in.How are the CRT-RPTV's these days? My friend has a Toshiba 50" Theaterwide HDTV from 2-3 years ago, and the picture quality isn't that great. It pretty much sucks with SDTV cable. DVDs are OK at best.
Maybe it's a bad model or bad sources?
How much better are the new LCD/DLP projection TV sets than the CRT projections? Are they worth twice the price (for 42" to 50" size)? I can't exactly afford the LCD projection units, but can easily afford the CRT projection ones. Any advice or brands (or if LCD projection is really worth the cost) is highly appreciated. Thanks!
