Last I checked, none of these players had DVI... I forgot about the Bel Canto, though

the pricetag is way out there though. I also think my FP already has a pretty darn good internal scaler/de-interlacer (I won't really know until I compare though).

I would have been seriously tempted by the Esoteric except for it's lack of DVI output.

OTOH, a high quality DVD player with good DACs might eliminate the need for DVI. I just don't know.

I'm leaning towards a reasonably priced ("interim") DVD player with DVI/HDMI and good de-interlacer (Faroudja or Silicon-image based) with brightness/contrast controls I currently don't have with my FP's DVI connection. Later on, maybe I'll spend bucks on a player which includes excellent DACs for multichannel hi-rez and DD/DTS decoding.
