A buddy was asking me why to get a 7.1 receiver when dvds have 6.1 on them at the most. I thought about it and couldn't come up with a good answer. I already have a 7.1 receiver (Denon 3803) so I'm not really worried about it, but wouldn't a 6.1 receiver be enough? If someone had to choose between a 6.1 or pay a bit more for a 7.1, why would the 7.1 be justified?
