The Plot Thickens !!

As a follow up to me earlier post: http://www.videoasylum.com/ht/messages/19701.html

I went ahead and replaced the HK with a new Yamaha RX-V2400

Within 5 minutes, the center channel shut down.

Now, I suspect the center speaker. Setup is:

Front L&R - Avance Epsilon 680's (4 ohms)
Center - M&K S125C (4 ohms)
Rear L&R - B&W 300 series (8 ohms)

I spoke with M&K last week and was informed that there is nothing in the speaker that would cause it to shut down on overload, etc.

Now, I'm truly lost ......

One other question: It is alleged that Yamahas can handle 4 ohm loads, but in setup you can only select 8 ohm or 6 ohm. How should I set it ... given my "mixed" load?

Thanks in advance .....
