as a corollary to my question to Joe below, does anyone know if watching DVDs on a computer (via a DVD-ROM or writer) has region blocking?
I've never had a DVD drive so have no experience with it, and am just starting to research this. What software is recommended?I'm setting up my "old" AMD K6-2 550 MHz based computer as a music server to be hooked up to our HT system and wondered about this extra possibility.
As I mentioned, we're interested in playing other region DVDs.
I need to get a DVD burner to archive a bunch of scientfic data at some time, so maybe the proverbial 2 birds...?thanks, Dr Dave
