I'd like to get a name-brand portable 'laptop' DVD player that will work for all regions (region-free), and am wondering which ones to consider, based on other users' experiences. The Audiovox D1705 seems like a good buy ($180), and it is user 'modifiable' (via simple menu mods) to play multi-region DVD's (which means I can play British DVD's, for one thing). Polaroid also has a model for around $200. Anybody have any good experiences with these less expensive portable DVD players? The prices have dropped precipitously over the last year or so, to where once $300 and $400 players are now at the $200 mark, so I feel this is a good time to buy one. Any comments appreciated.
