Thanks for the info. I could not find it on the site you mentioned but it is in the link below.Agree with you, most frustrating. I had hopes for agreement when they both adopted the same audio and video protocols with the only real difference remaining being the physical layer (0.6 mm for HD-DVD but 0.1 mm for Blu-ray).
However Sony has a track record of stubborness - look at the way it persevered with Beta long after it was obvious the VHS camp had prevailed. Their ownership of studios just about guarantees they will hang in despite what anyone else does. Like all such previous situations, it will be a fight to the death. Maybe Sony are winning the SACD vs DVD-A battle but that is no great economic prize.
