Re: Ok, who's crossing over...

I'm moving my Maggie 2-channel setup to a super-deluxxe-o MGMC setup with drop-down CRT front projector. I can only do 5.1 due to my room layout, though I may put an upward firing 6th-channel speaker between my couch and wall and see what happens.

This should actually improve on my current 2-channel setup. The MGMC1's I demoed sound a lot crisper than my old 1.4's, and, though the midbass won't be as nice with a subwoofer involved (I'm building a custom sub for the maggies) the overall layout of the speakers and furniture should be better acoustically.

This is a good time to do video. The current AV gear coming out is priced so low you can get really nice used stuff for cheap. My whole video front-end is going to cost me about $3,000, which, when new three years ago, would have run into the high $20's. It's still really good gear, just not "state of the art." I think it will crush anything out there right now for under $20k.
