OK, lets get some more info.1) What is the name of the port on DVD player you are using for sound output?
2) What is that plugged into ( port name) on your Surround Sound Receiver and what kind of cable are you using?3) What is the name of the port on DVD player you are using for video output?
4) What is that plugged into ( port name) on your TV and what kind of cable are you using?Yes, you will probably need to select a different input from your TV to watch and hear the DVD player.
