The Sony is "right out". Compared to the other two it is the least reliable, has the hardest time with normal speaker loads, and is not equal to the others in sonics or build quality. It does however, have more features.

The Denon would be my second choice. It is much better built than the Sony, and more powerful (even though the Sony has more "watts") into a normal speaker load.

The Yamaha, for the money, is the piece to beat. I just told a friend of mine to buy one after checking out the AVR87/1700. The Denon was nice, but the 595a (same as HTR5150) was beefier, nicer fit/finish, and just seemed to have more "drive".

Choose either the Denon or Yamaha and you will not be disappointed.
