Denon 3300 Disaster!!

I purchased the Denon 3300 only to have it overheat, smoke and die on me after only a week. Didn't care for the sound of the Yamaha 995. Any suggestions as to another receiver at the $1200.00 and under price point. Not interested in the Nakamichi 10. Any feed back on the New H/K, Marrantz, and Elite lines would be appreciated.
