HELP!!! Picture problems with DV-05.

206.47.244.62

Hi

I just purchased a Pioneer DV-05. I had to hook it up to my TV with an RF modulator from Radio Shack because my ten year old Trinitron only has a coaxial (non-RCA cable type) input. The problem I'm having is a picture that is "extremely" contrasty. The light areas are blown out and the dark areas are "pitch" black with minimal detail. I've tried adjusting the black level (dark and normal) and it did look a little better set to dark but didn't make a big difference. I also toggled the block filter on and off with no noticeable difference. I looked through the manual and could'nt find anything else that I could adjust. I fiddled with all the controls on the TV to no avail. Is there anything else that I could adjust? Is the modulator the problem? Is it new TV time? If it is, does anyone have any suggestions for 27-32 inch TV's.

thanks in advance
Jerry
