I have your basic kludged-together PC with a DVD-Rom drive and the cheapest soundcard I could find. I'm currently using some inexpensive multimedia speakers, and a cheapo subwoofer. When listening to CD's the sound is passable, but when watching movies it sounds like hell- hiss and more hiss. I would like to use the PC as a source, and run it through aux. on the lovely Marantz model 26 I picked up at the thrift store the other day. I guess my question is: is there a soundcard available with at least a nod towards hi-fi? Thanks for your suggestions!
