Bi-amping mains with receiver?

216.164.247.95

I have a MArantz SR-96 receiver (110W front, 90W rear) which has a full compliment of pre-amp outs, & main amp ins.
MY room will not allow for surround speakers. I was wondering if I could use the rear channels of the Marantz to bi-amp my mains.
I could connect a Y splitter to the pre-amp outs for the front L&R and send the singal to both the front & rear main amp ins.

Would there be any potential problems with this?

Thanks
Dan
