Hi all, i desperatly need some advice regarding my old warhorse the av600 preamp. I've had the av600 for 3 years and have enjoyed it much. However now that i have upgraded from psb 1000i speakers(full range) to sonus faber concertos(monitors) i need to add a sub. The hairy part is this... a sub can not be added without fliping a switch on the back of the pre. This switch automatically sets a 80 hertz cutoff for the mains and allows the sub to pickup there. Thats all fine and well but how am i supposed to enjoy my sonus faber's smooth midrange and musicality when i have to cut them off at 80 hertz and listen to a thumping sub try to keep up. Granted the 80 hertz is great for theatre when explosions and heavy bass are the norm but when i listen to music i would like for a sub to start pumping around 50 hertz and allow the sonus to go full range.. I would greatly appreciate any advice and or knowledge from someone with av600 experience or crossover experience. Also if you know anyone that would be able to mod my pre..... please advise.
Thank you
