Or the outboard rf modulator will have a digital out that you would connect to the Yamaha digital in to carry the prologic/dol dig. signal (again, assuming that you don't have a built-in demod on the Yamaha unit). An outboard demod will run you about $300-400 new but I've seen some on Audiogon for as little as $150. I use one from EAD but lots of other ones are available.
