I've seen a big lens that you put in front of your tv to make it look larger. Theoretically it'll work. Don't know about practicality. With the NTSC lines already visible to me from 12' away on a 36" TV I doubt I'd want to sacrifice resolution for size. Wait for HDTV prices to come down.
