Not quite sure what you are looking for but ....

.... you need to think it all through carefully. Good Stewart screens are not cheap & there are a number of options here apart from size - fixed, motor driven, perforated & side screens.

As for the projector be aware nearly all make fan noise and you cannot box them in too much or else ventillation becomes a problem. they overheat & shorten tube life.

Also, different brands vary a lot in picture quality. Contact your friendly dealer & insist on being put into contact with owners so you can talk to them & find out any reliability etc problems. The quality units do not come cheaply.

The best units require a LOT of fiddling to set up properly, something you will probably want to end up doing yourself after initial installation. Reason is that minor adjustments can make a big difference to the picture so if they cannot be adjusted you are stuck with an average factory setting. However if you are not blowing the picture up very much that might not matter so much to you.

Also bear in mind that enlargement magnifies any graininess in cable or any ghosting etc from aerials. Satellite broadcasts come out the best but even these can be a little fuzzy if the original material being broadcast is second class. DVDs are brilliant as are some LDs (but not many). We have the PAL TV system here (625 lines) and we can record good tapes that project quite well, but obviously there is some loss over the original.

The last thing to bear in mind is that they are best viewed in a totally dark room. Any ambient light will be a distraction & wash out the picture. The whites etc on projector units cannot be ever as bright as your normal TV.

Having posted all these negatives. my wife and I would not go back to a large TV. The impact of a large projected picture on scenes, the Olympics, documentaries & dramas is huge. Bear in mind also that a big screen demands top audio - another problem scenario in itself.

Not sure I've really answered your query.

John
