Can Black Screen on Dish CD's Cause Problems?

I had heard that when watching movies in 16 X 9 with the black lines above for long periods can leave some type of imprint. When I use the CD music channels on my Dish Networks satalite reciever the entire screen goes black with just the name of song being played in corner. This is normal. Can this also cause similar problems and should I be carefull not to leave it on for long periods of time? I have a Sony rear projection if that matters.
