I am a newbie in home theatre and starting out slowly. I had been watching movies via a VCR hooked up to my Audio Refinement Complete integrated amp and my Snell type 'C' speakers. The sound was ok. I recently purchased a Toshiba SD-9000 DVD player. I hooked it up as I did my VCR
and while the sound was ok, there was a definite loss of bass. Since the toshiba has an internal dd decoder I thought I would adjust the settings to large speakers and no sub, etc. and run my some outputs from there. The sound was exactly the same as before. (I had it set up so I could switch back and forth via remote ). I know bass is possible from the 2 channel side because my CD's sound fine. Any ideas? Would a bigger amp help?
