Confused Over Plamsa/HD TV

24.29.104.11

I have a Fujitsu PDS4222@ plamsa tv. My preamp is a Theta CasaNova and my DVD is a Theta David. All connected via s-video.

Question #1
What kind of picture am I receiving? 420i, 480p, or something else?

I am considering getting a Faroudja video processor, either the DVP-2200 (upconverts to 600p) or the DVP-3000 (upconverts up to 1080p).

Question #2
Is the Faroudja worth it? Would it make much improvement? Which one should I get?

Also, I am considering swapping the Fujitsu for the Pioneer 50" tv which is capable of doing 1080p.

Question #3
Since the Faroudja DVP-3000 is capable of upconverting to 1080p and the Pioneer plasma can handle a 1080p signal, would I therefore always be viewing a 1080p picture from the DVD source? How about for a standard cable broadcasting source?

Anything else I need to consider?

Thanks in advance.
