Difference RGB-Component

Hi, I am new to the forum, would anyone be able to tell me the difference between RGB and Component and which is better between the two.
I have a DVD with a RGB through Euro SCART and would like to link it (through RGB) to my projector, would this be the best option or it is better buying a DVD with Component and link it (through Component). Any help on this matter would be very appreciated.
PS My dealer told me RGB is the best.
