Tonight I watched the new "Gladiator" DVD. In the beggining it gives you an option of which sound format to use. I selected what I thought was DTS, but after closer examination I learned that it is DTS-ES. No sound would play on DTS-ES format even though my DVD player and new Onkyo receiver are both DTS compatible. I ended up watching the movie on the Dolbly Digital format and it sounded good. I was hoping some one could give me a quick education on the subject of DTS, DD, and DTS-ES. I read some of the past postings but they did clear up the subject for me.
I would really appreciate some help.
