HELP!!! I recently purchased a Pioneer DV-C503 DVD player. I really like it except for one problem. Often, when a light is turned on elsewhere in the house, the furnace fan kicks on, or if I turn on the TV when a CD is playing, the audio kicks out for a moment. If I'm watching a DVD, the audio will also sometimes kick out, but the video seems unaffected.I just returned the first unit and am trying the second - it does the same thing! The guy at the place I bought it said that my wiring probably wasn't polarized (I have an older house), but that doesn't make any sense to me. Am I nuts?! (rhetorical) This is the only component that I've ever had this kind of problem with.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Would a line conditioner/surge protector help? (I've been looking at building Jon Risch's design)
I'd really like to make this unit work since I've heard good things about the Pioneer transports, would like something that is CD-R compatible and I don't have a whole lot of room in my budget. At this point, however, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help,
S Field
