The free to air UHF channels are stereo and most programing gives Dolby Surround. I understand that when it changes to digital broadcasting, AC3 will be the norm.
The satellite video we get here is all stereo but "Discovery" & "National Geographic" do not ever give any Dolby Surround while the others we get do. This is puzzling as some of the Geographic DVDs are fully DD. What is the situation with these two channels in the States?
