LCD Projector... Anyone?

I have a small viewing space about 12 feet from wall to wall. Currently I have a 32" regular TV set with S-video inputs. I'm interested in getting a HDTV. For the size of screen that would make the upgrade worth it the screen will take up so much space. I feel I'll be inside the TV watching it in my small space. My other options are a plasma monitor, which I'm not impressed with, or an LCD projector. Has anyone gone to a LCD projector in their setup?? I haven't actually seen one outside of a computer presentation so any input would be appreciated.
