Thanks Gary,Could not get the HSU in New South Wales (the state where I live) as suggested by tonygeno and yes I have heard of the 2500, none in Australia for quite a while and unfortunately a lot more expensive than the other options I posted here originally (nearly 3000 Australian dollars and not too much discounting going on).
I ended up looking at REL Storm III but wasn't impressed based on all I've read, also listened to the Velodyne, same thing and the HGS-10 is nearly 4 grand here.
Was on my way home on Tuesday after a long day and happened to come across a shop that offered a deal too good to refuse on the Boston Acoustics PV1000 and I bought it - will post a review on AudioReview.com once I've used it for a while.
So far I am very happy with it with the proviso that there is a way to go before I get the setup right. I have a THX Receiver but wanted to make use of the Sub's Xover and see how it best blends with the 805's so I have it connected to the L/R pre-outs at the moment with the main L/R Power Amp being fed at line level from the sub so it controls the split.
It's not a bad sounding sub, good for music and movies like the B&W but around 1ft sq.
I am beginning to think that the extension (officially 22HZ) is variable depending on the quality of the recording - so far DVD's have varied in their bottom end content.
Perhaps you should have a listed in view of the N805's you have also?
Not absolute gut-thumping bass but I didn't want that anyway.
Regards.
