I have a 2 year old Mitsubishi M-VR800 AC-3 receiver, and my first question is since it is about 2 years old I was wondering if anyone knows what type of DACs the unit uses. I was told the older receivers use 16-bit/44.1kHz DACs. If I were to get an external 24-bit/96 or 196kHz DAC, how would I link it to my reciever to bi-pass the DAC in the receiver? Would this be practical or would it just be best to buy a new receiver? I like the unit the way it is, but if it uses 16-bit/44.1kHz DACs, I want a better sound. I have been asking around and no one knows what type of DAC it uses so if anyone could help me out a little, thanks
